What's your favourite part of working with clients?
Easing their anxiety. Whether it's a financial worry, a CRA letter, or just not knowing where they stand, I like being the person who takes the stress off their plate and gives them clarity and peace of mind. Seeing a client relax once things are sorted is the best part of my job.
What's something you're learning right now?
I'm learning more about AI and automation, partly out of curiosity and partly because I love finding smarter ways to work. I enjoy tinkering with new tools, seeing what they can do, and figuring out how they can make everyday tasks a little easier.
If you weren't in accounting — what would you be doing?
If I weren't in accounting, I'd probably be building software. I love the problem-solving side of tech, taking a messy process, figuring out how it works, and turning it into something that runs on its own. Honestly, it's not far from what I do now, since I'm always looking for ways to make the numbers, and the people behind them, a little easier to manage.
